About Us

Citizens for Preserving Fruit Heights is a group of concerned residents committed to transparent government and preserving our community's character.

    Why We Formed

In early 2026, concerned citizens discovered that Fruit Heights' General Plan—a 157-page document that will shape our community for decades—had been approved through a process that many residents consider rushed and lacking transparency.

The vote in April 2023 did not actually pass under city code, yet city officials continued to treat it as valid. When the City Attorney recommended ratifying the vote "as soon as possible," we realized that residents needed to understand what was happening before it was too late.

Citizens for Preserving Fruit Heights was formed to ensure that every resident has access to clear, factual information about the General Plan and its implications for our property values, taxes, and quality of life.

    Our Mission

We are not opposed to all development or change. We are committed to:

    • Transparency: Ensuring residents have access to the information they need to make informed decisions about their community
    • Due Process: Advocating for well-advertised, transparent public hearings that meet state requirements
    • Property Rights: Protecting homeowners from proposals that would affect their land without proper notification and compensation
    • Fiscal Responsibility: Questioning development subsidies and costs that will be borne by taxpayers

    Our Principles

    Transparency

We cite specific page numbers and sources. We encourage everyone to read the plan themselves.

    Fairness

We present facts without exaggeration. We want residents to draw their own conclusions.

    Accountability

We hold elected officials accountable for following proper procedures and representing residents.

    Community

We are your neighbors, fellow taxpayers, and longtime residents who love Fruit Heights.
